The first weekend in February was a busy time for legal innovation. Two conferences, Legalweek and Inspire.legal, occurred in New York, Legalweek on January 28th through the 31st and Inspire.legal on February 1st. Both conferences invited well regarded thought leaders to speak about technology, business trends, and creative solutions to industry problems.
Legal Talk Network attended both Legalweek and Inspire.legal and discussed the topic of innovation with the prominent speakers and guests in attendance. Find out more about the two conferences and hear their coverage below.
Legalweek
Originally Legaltech, Legalweek aims to bring the legal community together to discuss business and regulatory trends, technology, and talent drivers impacting the industry. They accomplish this through workshop boot camps, networking events, hundreds of exhibitors, a five different conferences that focus on individual key issues within the legal realm.
In their coverage of the event, Legal Talk Network recorded two episodes of Law Technology Now, three episodes of On The Road, and an episode of Thinking Like a Lawyer. In these episodes, they delve into some of the topics covered at the conference with attendees such as David Fisher, founder and CEO of Integra Ledger, and Zach Warren, editor in chief of Legaltech News and one of the organizers behind Legalweek. Inspire.legal
In its first year of existence, Inspire.legal invited a diverse gathering of lawyers, clients, technologists, and other legal innovators to collaborate and discuss solutions to some of the significant problems facing the industry. Some of the names represented included Orrick, Cravath, Price Waterhouse Cooper, White & Case, Baker McKenzie, Morrison & Foerster, Cornell, Northwestern, Penn State, Thomson Reuters, and more. Through presentations, workshops, and “unpanels”, the conference aimed to get attendees out of their comfort zones and into interactive discussions.
