Press Release
Denver, CO – Process servers play an integral role in the justice system as the professionals who serve legal documents to inform a party that they are involved in a court action. The delivery of documents often brings emotionally charged situations that occasionally end in violence. As process server assault becomes a growing issue in the industry, ServeNow.com and a number of other organizations have debuted a process server safety campaign. The campaign, titled PAAPRS, focuses on raising awareness about the issue as well as providing safety tips and a place for process servers to record incidents as they happen.
“PAAPRS stands for ‘Promoting Assault Awareness and Protective Regulations for Servers,’” ServeNow.com co-founder Trent Carlyle explained. “The goal of this campaign is to team up with associations and industry professionals and offer our resources to help raise awareness and push for better protection for process servers.”
The PAAPRS Page at ServeNow hosts a variety of features and resources, including:
- Badges supporting PAAPRS
- A Google Plus Hangout On Air where association members share their tips and experience
- A process server assault map where professionals can document incidents
- Media coverage of recent assault
- Articles on assault prevention and what to do if you are assaulted
- Space for associations to share what’s happening in their respective states with regard to assault
Several associations, including the Process Servers Association of Colorado (PSACO), North Carolina Association of Professional Process Servers (NCAPPS), the Mississippi Association of Professional Process Servers (MAPPS), the Washington State Process Servers Association (WSPSA), the New Jersey Professional Process Servers Association (NJPPSA), and the New York State Process Server’s Association (NYSPPSA) have teamed up with ServeNow.com to support the cause with several other organizations coming on board.
Other legal associations and organizations are encouraged to join and endorse PAAPRS by section to show their support for process server safety. For information on how to get involved, contact ServeNow.com today.
